Our Metals & Quality
Quality You Can Feel
At Cassell Jewelry, we're selective about what we carry β because the metal beneath your gemstone matters just as much as the stone itself. Every piece in our collection meets a standard we'd be proud to wear ourselves.
We source exclusively through Stuller, one of the most respected names in the fine jewelry industry, whose materials are trusted by independent jewelers nationwide. That relationship gives us access to metals and stones that simply aren't available through mass-market channels β and it's a big part of why our pieces are priced the way they are.
14K Gold
Our solid gold pieces are crafted in 14K gold β 58.3% pure gold alloyed with premium metals for strength, color, and everyday wearability. It's the standard professional jewelers use for pieces meant to last a lifetime.
We offer three 14K gold options:
- Yellow Gold β Warm and timeless, with a balanced tone that flatters every skin tone. Built for daily wear without sacrificing elegance.
- Rose Gold β A rich, vivid blush created by a copper-forward alloy. That same copper makes it the most scratch-resistant of our gold options β beauty and durability in one.
- White Gold β A clean, bright white with a platinum-like finish. Unlike standard white gold β which relies on rhodium plating that wears off over time β ours is formulated to stay brilliantly white without ongoing maintenance.
Sterling Silver
Our sterling silver pieces are crafted from .925 sterling silver β 92.5% pure silver alloyed with premium metals for structure and durability. It's the recognized standard for fine silver jewelry worldwide.
Stuller's sterling silver is held to a higher manufacturing standard than what you'll find in mass-market or fashion jewelry. The difference shows in the weight, the finish, and how the piece holds up over time.
To keep your silver looking its best, store it in a cool, dry place and avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, perfume, and harsh chemicals.
18K Gold Vermeil
Our vermeil pieces feature a thick layer of 18K gold over a solid .925 sterling silver base. Vermeil is a meaningful step above standard gold-plated jewelry β the higher karat gold and quality silver base mean a richer color, a more substantial feel, and a longer-lasting finish.
These pieces offer the look and feel of solid gold at a more accessible price point. With simple care β keeping them away from water, lotion, and perfume β they stay beautiful for years.
18K Gold-Plated Sterling Silver
Our gold-plated pieces are built on a solid .925 sterling silver foundation with a warm 18K gold finish on top. The result is a rich, polished look that's ideal for earrings, pendants, and pieces you want to style every day.
A little care goes a long way: remove before swimming, showering, or applying products, and the finish will last significantly longer.
Diamonds
We carry both natural and lab-grown diamonds β and we want to be straightforward about what that means.
Lab-grown diamonds are not simulants or cubic zirconia. They are real diamonds β chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined diamonds, just grown in a controlled environment rather than extracted from the earth. Both score a perfect 10 on the Mohs hardness scale and have the same brilliance and fire. The difference is price: lab-grown diamonds typically allow you to get a larger stone or better clarity grade for the same budget.
For our ready-made diamond jewelry, stones are graded and categorized so you know what you're getting:
- Natural diamonds β typically SI1βSI2 clarity, GβJ color (eye-clean, face-up white against any metal)
- Lab-grown diamonds β typically VSβSI clarity, EβH color (very bright and white); stones 0.33ct and above are laser-inscribed for full transparency
Stuller takes the integrity of their diamond supply seriously β natural and lab-grown stones are stored and processed separately, and accent diamonds (melee) are individually screened to confirm their origin. That level of care is reflected in every piece we carry.
Colored Gemstones
Our colored gemstone pieces are set with natural stones sourced through Stuller's global gemstone division. Every stone is hand-inspected for color consistency, cut proportions, and structural integrity before it's ever set β which matters more than it might sound.
In mass-market jewelry, stones are often sorted loosely and set without much individual attention. The result can be mismatched colors or uneven brilliance across a piece. Our pieces β whether a multi-stone ring, an ombre array, or a pair of earrings β are set with stones that are calibrated to match one another in saturation, hue, and cut.
Stuller sources from conflict-free supply chains, so you can wear your piece knowing it was made responsibly.
